
Agenda
1. Members of the conference are the European national church music associations, or, where there are no national associations, every church music institution authorised by the local bishops' conference.
2. The national presidents responsible and their representatives are committed to cooperation with each another.
3. Aims of cooperation:
a) development and protection of music in religious services and sacred music;
b) emphasising the pastoral and cultural position and task of church music;
c) a stronger position of church music in the mind of the church in public
musical life;
d) discussion of experiences of the position of church music and its performers
in the different countries, also considering their general music culture;
e) work on the different kinds of church music throughout history;
f) development of new perspectives in and of church music;
g) planning and realising a renewal of church music in accordance with liturgical
requirements;
h) improvement of church music performance, both of musical and interpretative
aspects as well as spiritual and intellectual aspects;
i) exchange of periodicals and other publications;
j) motivation of choirs and instrumental musicians to exchanges, as well as
assistance in recruiting referents and experts.
4. Forms of cooperation
a) annual conference of the national presidents or their representatives,
each year in a different member country;
b) two representatives may take part in the conference per member;
c) each member country has one vote;
d) at every conference the theme of the next will be decided;
e) the office of the CEDAME is located in the secretarial office of the ACV
in Regensburg;
f) the costs of the conference are divided between the various countries.
5. Organisation of the annual conference by the president
responsible:
a) the president in charge signs himself responsible for the organisation
of the annual conference in his country;
b) he is assisted therein by the last year's organisational president and
the constant secretary of the CEDAME.
